To look at this picture of Alexa and then one of her taken in the hospital there is a noticeable difference. Alexa was so small when she was born, only 3lbs 12 oz. Here you can see that she is starting to get a little meat on her bones. Her face has also filled out more. What a cute little girl!
How do you get a picture like this? Well, you have to have a lot of patience. It took hours! Especially when you have twins. The key is to have an electric heating pad under the blanket so the babies stay nice and warm and want to go to sleep. We were afraid that they might not sleep. Photos of sleeping babies are usually taken during their first month of life but they were in the hospital then and by the time the photographer had an opening they were two month old. I'm so glad that they let us get these shots and slept for a little while.
The blessing dress here is actually longer, it's bunched up. Mya's aunt Jen made it for Mya when she was a baby. It's a beautiful dress. I'm glad that we were able to use it twice!

Oh how they've grown
I started this post back in January and haven't had time to finish it until now. I probably won't finish it right now either since I have one baby cryinging and it's 5 min. before feeding time again. Oh well..
So, a couple of months ago I was thinking how the twins have grown so much over the last 6 months, it's 8 months NOW. So here's a look back....

I finally moved my computer from my office out to the desk in the kitchen so when the babies are asleep (one of them usually sleeps in my office) I can get on my computer for a few minutes.
I've had these pictures on my computer for ages, it seems. We had the twins photos taken professionally on September 11, 2008 (they were almost 2 months old) in our home and ended up buying the digital image for all of them because they were so adorable. So here are a few of my favorites.
More to come later, Alexa's up...
Did She Roll Over?
So, last week on January 15th, Alexa and Preston's 6 month milestone, I came back from putting Preston down for a nap and saw Alexa in this position. Alexa had rolled over! She was smiling and so proud of her self. Well, I wanted to see if she could show me her new trick so I put her on her back and got the video camera going. She rolled over for me! Just when I turned off the camera she rolled from her stomach to her back!
Now Preston, I know he was the first to show us that he HAD rolled over BUT he has yet to demonstrate his new found skill for us. We're still waiting Preston....

Christmas 2008
I'm finally getting a chance to blog about our Christmas. Some days it's either take a bathroom break or get on the computer when the twins are down for a nap.
Opening gifts was on the agenda next and then a trip back home for naps!
Santa found us on Christmas. Mya is showing off one of her hats here (she is all about accessories now). Grandma and Grandpa Massey came to see us open gifts and see what Santa had brought. The twins got an exersaucer. They look so tinny in it. Their arms barely reach SOMETHINGS and their legs are no where near touching the ground!
We traditionally have breakfast at Grandma and Grandpa Thompsons. We decided that if we were going to eat that the twins could try rice cereal for breakfast too. You can see Alexa's reaction to that. She did not like it! A few weeks later Alexa is the better eater and Preston is not really interested.

Did he roll over?
I had to walk away from the babies for a bit today, when I came back Preston was on his tummy, I didn't put him on his tummy. So either Alexa kicked him over onto his tummy (not likely) or he rolled over! Our nanny said he rolled over yesterday in front of her but I have yet to see it with my own eyes.
