Spring Break 2009, Phoenix Vacation

A couple of weeks after Doug broke his leg we flew to Phoenix, AZ. I know, kinda' crazy with twins and a husband just out of surgery. We had booked the trip almost 9 month ago and it was spring break so we decided to try it.
A couple of days before the trip I finally realized how much work this was going to be for me and asked my parents to come. My parents attended a funeral in Nevada and then drove down to meet us in Arizona. They arrived only a few hours after we did!
Getting through security at the airport was crazy. With Doug and his metal in his leg and the babies with their bottles, juices and food, it took awhile. The plane ride went well. Doug sat in first class to have room for his leg and Mya and I had a whole row to our self with the babies. A couple in front of us offered their help if we needed it.

Our vacation consisted mostly of taking walks, hanging out at the many pools the Desert Ridge Marriott Resort had to offer and visiting with Doug's brothers and sisters and their families. Oh, and we did go to the zoo while we were there.

It was good to see Jen and her family. She had just had a baby a few weeks prior. It was hard to believe that not long ago our babies were that small! It had been awhile since we had seen Steve and Barbara and Elizabeth so I was glad they were able to come see us while we were in Phoenix. Becky and Garth and their family came up a couple of times and we also meet them at the zoo while we where there. Mya had fun playing with them.

Playing with bubbles just outside of our condo

What do you do when it's so hot outside that you can't stand it (while everyone else in Utah is freezing because it's snowing in April)?

You go swimming!!!

Oh, and to the zoo in your wheelchair.....
